Basant {{year}} in Lahore: Your Guide to Buying Govt Approved Kites
Basant, the spring kite festival of Punjab, is back, and {{city}} is getting ready for its rooftops to fill with colour again. For Basant {{year}} the Government of Punjab allows kite flying only with approved kites and cotton thread made by registered manufacturers. That is why buying from a licensed source matters more than ever.
1.5 Tawa vs Tawa Gudda: which kite should you buy?
The 1.5 Tawa kite (dedh tawa patang) is the classic Lahori size. It is light, quick and easy to control, which makes it ideal for pecha and for both beginners and experienced flyers. The Tawa Gudda is larger and more stable. It holds steady in stronger winds and climbs high, so many families pick it for relaxed, long flying sessions. Most rooftops order a mix of both.
Why approved Dor Pinna matters
Metal wire, nylon and chemically coated (glass) string have caused serious accidents in the past and are banned. Our Dor Pinna uses approved cotton thread only, so you fly within the law and keep your neighbours, motorcyclists and children safe.
